There's nothing that attracts me more, than a genius without the glasses. Eoin Colfer has done it again. I loved the sequel to Artemis Fowl. How could I not, being a combinations of things that fascinate me: Russia, antiheroes, faery, and cold environments (arctic/North Pole). My second foray into the world of Artemis Fowl was another quick, fun adventure. This book is a true sequel to the first with the continuation of the story arc of Artemis' lost father. I completely fell in love with the first book in this series, however this second iteration has fallen short of the mark set by the first.It's by no means a bad book, and I enjoyed the view point of Holly Short more in this than the first. So the second book of the ARTEMIS FOWL. It was a pretty light, funny read actually.This time the focus is on the faerie people . And Artemis is basically on the subplot, but its important nevertheless. It was really funny to see how captain short cope up with artemis and his body-guard. :p Looking forward to more actions in the next books.

I liked the first book of the series more than this one. I don't know, Artemis wasn't his usual self and the plot wasn't as interesting as the first one was. I had fun reading it, but still, I had hoped for an improvement and ended up being a little disappointed. Re-reading Artemis Fowl and the Arctic Incident was once again fantastic! This shouldn't come as a surprise but Eoin Colfer manages to enthrall me again and again with his books, no matter how many times I have read them.With re-reading this book, I have noticed a few things, actually. Surprise-Surprise! This was much better than the first in this series, Artemis Fowl. The story, although less likely plausible, was better. Artemis has matured some and now seems to fit the situation better. This story was much funnier and more action-packed.I'll just pretend the first book was an epilogue, and will potentially continue on in the series, especially if they continue to be just as good as this one. Way to step up to the task Eoin Colfer!

For being an Artemis book, this didn't really contain a lot of him, sadly. Having said that, it was still an interesting story, and provided some laughs, some gasps and some situations to reflect upon. The build up and the climax were rather delicious, and then we even got a second one, sadly, over a lot quicker than the first one. There wasn't much of a resolution at all, which means I shall I have to read the next book series sooner than the gap between books one and two.

This book continues to build upon the previous one. Emotional side of Artemis is shown as he is ventured to rescue his father from the russia. And there is a coup happening in the underground. Action packed with a lot of character development. Loved it.

This book was a good sequel! I have read it in one day! Overall rating: 4.5!(:
