    • 2.5 stars. Denny is a government operative who captures and imprisons EB's (elves) who are considered to be parasites leeching off the human race. Kit is the elf that changes Denny's mind. This is probably a book that others will enjoy more than me. IMO it's way too short to satisfyingly tell the story the author wants. There is Denny's poor relationship with his daughter (of which much is made but nothing really resolved). I don't think we even meet the daughter although she is frequently mentio [...]

    • On one hand I really loved this book, on the other I found it kind of frustrating. Why I loved it:- Great chemistry between the leads. I felt like there was genuine conflict. The banter was fun, and I loved the way the captor/captive dynamic worked at the beginning, although I'd have preferred Kit to be a bit more of a trickster.- Denny's relationship with his ex wife and daughter was really wonderful. - I liked the world building quite a bit, and loved the representation of Elves as being sort o [...]

    • 3.5 stars. Good paranormal m/m romance about a guy who works for the British government, capturing Ethereal Beings (aka elves). When he unexpectedly becomes close to one of his captives, everything changes. I was a bit frustrated by the epilogue, which took place a year after the main story, because all the stuff that was mentioned in the epilogue as having occurred during the intervening year seemed like it needed to be a story in itself!

    • This is the first Kay Berrisford book I have read and I can't wait to read another. Her style of writing is gorgeous and I was immediately drawn into her world. Her take on elves unique and there were surprises and hot sex all through the storyI want moreRecommended as a really lovely read.

    • Any book that can pull me into its world within the first few pages, fantastical and alternate-contemporary as it may be, gets my vote of approval. ‘Catching Kit’ did exactly that: it’s set in a London that is exactly like the one I know, other than a few minor deviations. Like the existence of elves. Like the fact they are all persona nongrata and “the government” is after them. Conspiracy theories anyone? I just loved it! Add a main character who is one of the ‘elf catchers’ – [...]

    • OOOOOkey! It's so hard to rate and review it because Well, if you look for a reeeeaaaaal plot - that book is not for you!I thought that maybe the case is because it was quite short - but nope! I've recently read An Uncommon Whore which has +/- the same amount of pages and the author managed to pack it full of plot, adventure and actual worldbuilding. So, that's not it. Actually, about 70% of Catching Kit takes place during one day!Anyway, in a state I'm in now (terrible flu!) it was even better [...]

    • What I ADORED* cross-dressing. Both character did it, and it's even described, in details, while Denny is cross-dressing. I loved it. It was the first time I read a a cross-dressing scenes described so well!* the elf is fun :D I laugh a lot. Kit is a funny character* it's very erotic. I like erotic stories :-)* I was afraid it would be a book with just bitchy women, but it wasn't. I was glad Denny's ex wife wasn't an unpleasant character. She was just having a bad day, that why she was so impoli [...]

    • I really enjoyed Kay Berrisford's Catching Kit.From the first time we see him, I fell completely in love with Kit, the 'Ethereal Being' or EB, which he was classified as by the government.Jolly Old London, you see, is infested with elves. The government has its own squads of pest removal officers in white vans whose aim is to remove the EBs from the streets before word can get out. The EBs are then taken away and dealt with - and they never come back.Denny, from whose viewpoint we see the action [...]

    • This was a very (very!) unique story. I've not read anything quite like it. A guy whose job it is to catch EB (Ethereal Beings) and one of the EB's himself an Elf named Kit. It's kind of awkward in the beginning but then there is a real charm to it. What happens, all those involved, it just all comes together in a neat little package. Not remotely realistic - so suspend your disbeliefbut then it's paranormal so you should already be doing that. I enjoyed it!

    • I thought this had a lot of potential, but there was very little plot and the romance was a bit too fast. They went from one of them believing the other is a parasite incapable of emotions to "I'll even leave my child and job to be with you" in a timeframe of a couple of days. The world building is very interesting, so maybe if this were part of a series I would reccomend it. Right now, though, I'm just a bit dissapointed by it.

    • This book was bought for me by my Secret Sant and was recommended for 4quater gang-bang.Sweat book, lots of sexy times about an elf and an elf catcher!

    • Kay Berrisford’s Catching Kit is a fun Urban Fantasy with a delightful English flare, and is a catchy introduction to a series that I can’t help but feel is full of the potential for loads of suspense and angsty times ahead.Book one in the Underground Elves series introduces a world in which elves materialize and fade in the human realm, only to materialize again, sometimes decades, sometimes centuries later, at the whims of whatever nature controls their reincarnation. Or, at least that’s [...]

    • 3 1/2 HeartsFirst published at MM Good Book Reviewsmmgoodbookreviews.wordpressDenny is a hunter, an Ethereal Being (Elves) Hunter. It is his job to round up the EB parasites before they bleed the emotions from humans. But, when he catches one on the London Underground he discovers that the EBs might not be the dangerous beings that he has been led to believe. He falls rapidly for the cute elf Kit. But, what is he supposed to do now? The Being he has fallen for is supposed to be a danger to human [...]

    • This review can be found at The Blogger Girls. On his way to visiting his daughter, Denny comes across an EB (Ethereal Being aka an elf) and is obligated as a top secret agent to arrest the elf. Unfortunately, when Denny captures Kit, everything he’s ever learned about elves and their evil ways is shattered, causing him to question himself and the intentions of the government. Now Denny has to decide what to do next. He’s got an elf who’s perfect for him but he has a job, a daughter and a l [...]

    • A Joyfully Jay review. 4.5 starsOh, wow, guys. This was a fun and interesting twist on the elves theme. I really liked the world building here. The general population has no idea that elves really exist and the government is striving to keep it that way. But the propaganda they spout to their agents is pretty much untrue, and it causes Denny to have to reevaluate everything he thought he knew. And Denny? Oh, my heart went out to him. He really struggled with himself in a lot of ways. He’s just [...]

    • Although nominally about an elf-catcher and the elf he inadvertently falls for, Kay Berrisford's novella is rather surprisingly rich and complete in a package that is really too small for a narrative like this. What this story is really about is a moment of transformation in a young man's life - that moment when he stops being a self-pitying and self-centered whiner and realizes that the world needs him to be more than that. It's not just his ex-wife and his daughter who need him to be a mensch, [...]

    • The promise of a new take on elves drew me in to this and pulled it right to the top of my TBR list. There were indeed some things that could have been better. I didn't like Denny's constant whining about his daughter while not really trying very hard to fix anything. And making the daughter's mom out to be this horrible bitch whispering terrible things about him to their daughter seemed terribly unfair given how awesome she was in the only conversation we got to see her in.That said, there were [...]

    • 3.5 stars. It was decent. I thought it was a fun new take on elves and a fun way to mix the modern world with historical tidbits. I thought it was great fun seeing Kit and Denny mesh so well. I didn't really like how the fetishes ended up being described. I like sexy clothes, and using heels to help with kissing was cute, but the crossdressing didn't feel right to me. None of the sex worked for me as well as it should have, given the scenes.I think this could have been a more interesting story if [...]

    • This book is a bad Destiel fanfiction.Tall, muscular, insecure with his sexuality and love for women underwears hero meets old as fuck supernatural being and has kinky sex with him.Half this book is boring porn, which is really sad because if the characters had stopped thinking with their dicks for half a minute, it could have been great! The plot had a lot of potential, with an interesting mythology, and Kit, the elf, is quite lovable. The plot itself was interesting, but its writting was lazy [...]

    • It's not bad, I guess, and I certainly liked it better than the other Barrisford book I read. The sex still seemed really random, though, and the overall effect was a bitattered.I do rather like the cover, though. I like the body language and facial expressions, especially that little smirk on Kit's face, although for some reason, I pictured him with longer hair and not sorpentine.I agree with Derr, though, in that I liked this new take on elves, too.

    • 3 Stars. I liked the story. Kit was fun but I had a hard time liking Denny. There is a lot of sex in this book and I found myself skimming the scenes towards the end (the scenes were well written and pretty hot but there was so much it teetered on erotica). I will probably pick up the next book if the series continues but I hope there is more story about the fight to stop the government's program against elves than sex in the next one.

    • It was niceG surprise for me.I had to remember ANGEL from RENT to survive it. It was cute and really weird, but I soon found myself laughing at a few parts. It's a good read. Loved it.

    • OK, I just finished this book and I'm thinking "gay elf erotica". Seriously! :-) It was a fun light read and I'll read more of this author's works as its not your usual gay erotica and it does appeal to my fantasy geek side!

    • Lol! So adorable! And romantic and hot. Loved it! Kit is so endearing, I really liked him. And the hero (whose name escapes me) is just as likeable, but differently. I love a happy ending, especially when it's as perfect as this. Sigh.

    • 4.5Way more enjoyable than I anticipated! I really fell into the world that was built, and I totally bought it. I liked both MC's and thought it was a hot, fun book!

    • 3.5 starsThere is a potential to the story but just a little short to my liking. Wish it was a novel instead of a novella.

    • I like this unique take on elves aka ethereal beings aka EB's. Although I wish we actually got to see a scene with Kit interacting with Denny's daughter Jen. I like guys with kids. ^_^
