    • I was on board with a cute little Regency Christmas romance. I stayed with them through the poisonings, spies and even the long-enough-to-have-caused-brain-damage unconsciousness due to a blow on the head. But then they ‘jumped the shark’ with seeing the Star of Bethlehem.Oh well, still a cute story. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    • DNF At only 41% I was curious as to whether or not I even wanted to finish this novella. I mean, Gwyneth sounded more like a 16 year old than a grown up, “Oh, Ash, our first real kiss.” Or “oh, Ash, I just melt when you kiss me.” Really? Could anything sound more teenager-ish. And when they were talking outside the conservatory they both sounded kind of idiotic. This could have been written by a high school student for her Literature or English class. I would have given her/him a B but f [...]

    • Why I Choose this Book: The absolutely gorgeous cover, along with the holiday theme, is what attracted me to this read.Short and Sweet Summary: Childhood friends that have deeper feelings for each other, team up to prevent an assassination attempt at a Christmas party in Regency England. The Characters: Ash and Gwyneth are each strong willed and have ideas on how their courtship should progress. As they become embroiled in the assassination plot to kill the Prince Regent, their romance begins to [...]

    • This was a quick fun holiday read. I enjoyed it very much. I received a free copy of this book for a fair honest review.

    • A Christmas Code by Jacki Delecki is a 2014 Smashwords release. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This novella is centered around Lady Gwyneth Beaumont and Viscount James Ashworth. Ash is a close friend of Gwyneth's brother and he has known Gwyneth since her childhood days. However, she is now a grown woman living in a world of spies. Gwyneth wants to do her part to help her country and has some valuable skills. When it becomes apparent there could be a plot afo [...]

    • I think one needs to read book one to get into this book. This book is the 2nd in the series and I didn't read the first. After one chapter I felt like I was missing somethinge back story from the first? I also felt the female lead to be frivolous and self centered. I got very little feeling for the male lead. So basically I could not get into this book. I will say it seemed well written.

    • This is actually a pretty good book. Well written and engaging, the characters are likable and the plot is interesting. I would have rated it higher if the romance had been a bit more satisfying. There wasn't really any buildup.

    • #2 A Christmas Code by Jacki Delecki is the 2nd book in the Code Breakers Series. I really love that this regency series is loaded with suspense, intrigue, mystery and romance all at once. This story is a little shorter so not as much depth with the characters’ personalities.

    • This review was originally posted to Jen in BooklandI love old timey romances and I love holiday reads so an old timey holiday read is the best! A Christmas Code had all of the old timey fun I love as well as some Christmas magic to make it that much better. This is the first I have read from this author, but I am going to check out more of their work as this was a lot of fun to read. Gwyneth has always had a huge crush on Ash. They grew up together, but Gwyneth wants to show him that she is not [...]

    • I love story where the heroine is allowed to to be a strong smart woman. Jacki Delecki has created series where woman are allowed to use their brains and aid in protecting the British Empire by working as spies. Lord Ashworth doesn't want to involve Gwenyth in his operation (because she is a woman who needs to be protected). Fortunately for her, her sister-in-law and brother have already walked this path in Book 1 and with her brother's agreement, she is allowed to go to a house party and use he [...]

    • A Christmas Code by Jacki Delecki was an historical romantic novella. The book featured Lady Gwyneth Beaumont who has been in love with Viscount James Ashworth since she was a small girl. Ash has returned from being gone for three years and Gwyneth is not going to let anything stand in her way. The problem is that Ash still has an assignment to deal with before he feels he will be free to pursue Gwyneth. She is not waiting and enters into his world wholeheartedly bound and determined to help him [...]

    • A sappy simple romance with a little bit of intrigueI only yawned through this book a couple of times. Easy reading, this is a simple romance with a tiny bit of intrigue. The characters were predictable, the plot too trivial, and the suspense and mystery nonexistent. The assassin of the Prince is identified early, so there is no mystery there. Other than a poisoning and a bump on the head, there was little espionage. And I saw no evidence of a code, so the title of this book makes little sense. [...]

    • Spies, mayhem, and regency romance all mix together to create an entertaining book. Although listed as the second book in the Code Breakers series, I think it can easily be read as a stand alone. I could see that some of the characters probably had major parts in the first book, but that did not detract from this story, nor hinder the understanding.

    • InterestingThis book was fun and interesting. It was clean although the kisses were incredibly descriptive and so was the sensual arousals. Overall though the plot was swift and interested and the characters were well developed. A good story.I received this book free from one of the book subscription emails.

    • This is the very light Regency story, with a minimal Christmas setting, of childhood friends, Ash and Gwenyth. Ash is a spy for Britain during the Napoleaonic wars and Gwenyth wants to help. This is the the premise of the Christmas Code. It is simple, straightforward and easy. If that is what you’re looking for, here is your book.

    • The lovely heroine just wants to be taken seriously by the spies in her family and their closest spy friends. Well that and winning the heart of the spy she has longed to impress since she was a child. She quickly conquers the world in this holiday story!

    • As with the last book in this series the dialog between the two main characters is painful to read. This novella was like eating one of those desserts that are so powerful sweet they make you have a pounding headache and feel sick.

    • Christmas CodeThis author has a great nack for mystery, love and a wonderful ending. Throughout, we were held in suspense of the Code. Good read.

    • MysteryOutstanding Christmas time story. Light but suspenseful. It was a fun reading and very I enjoyed the treatment of all the characters.

    • Love story entwined with a spytailEasy enjoyable read,a lot was fitted intothis fairly short story, a plot to kill the Prince while telling of love

    • SuspensefulOur heroine was a little too eager, but she did prove resourceful before the story ended. The author kept me guessing until the end just who the bad guys were.

    • Light reading with a Christmas theme. Ash a spy is trying to find out who is trying to kill the prince. Gwyneth loves him and only wants to help.

    • Spy loversEven in the napolianatic war time, spies ran rampic. When two unlikely people are involved and tangle ,both in intrigue and love, the story gets twisted.
