    • KITTY THOMAS MARATHON!** 4,5-5 “I belong to you.” STARS ** “You love me.”“No. I don’t.”“Poor lost lamb. You do. You can lie to yourself, but your BLOOD doesn’t know how to lie.”My God. This woman and her crazy imagination I could have read a thousand more pages and get lost in the world she created so expertly.100% RECOMMENDED!

    • I didn't like this. It was gross in a way that, as Carmen might say, will put you off men.Review in spoiler.(view spoiler)[This book is set in a world where day and night are each 1000 hours long. Night is dangerous. It's basically everyone for themselves, with people fighting over groceries and getting annoyed at long lines for the pharmacy, because they all want to be home before night comes. The story wasn't really clear on why, but on her way home from the pharmacy, Helene, the main characte [...]

    • Kitty Thomas leaves me with the same feeling every time I finish reading one of her books - craving. I know that there are a lot of dark and erotic novels out there now, but back when I first started "exploring", her wicked storytelling was my complete undoing. Why?Because she doesn't usually do anything half way. Some of her stories are kind of "romanticized", but in the end (no matter if they are paranormal or realistic), Kitty Thomas is the queen of master/slave erotica.

    • 5 twisted, mind-fuckery stars! What a book! I bought this book today (release day), read it immediately and finished it in one sitting. I don't know why I'm surprised really. Kitty Thomas is a one click author for me. I've read (and loved) everything she's written to date and this book is another I can add to the list of beautifully written, mind fucks. If you're not convinced there is such a thing, there is, trust me. Kitty's writing just makes me feel so much. She really is the queen of dark an [...]

    • 3.5 STARSI was going between 3 and four stars for this book. It had an original take on the vampire storyline, mixing it up with a dystopian background. I really liked it, but not as much as Comfort Food and The Last Girl. KT always delivers highly entertaining and absorbing erotica. Her plots aren't solely sex-based, which I'm so thankful for. She actually incorporates a real story into her work. This was a tamer version of stuff I've read by her. Big Sky was the most disturbing, though! That b [...]

    • 3.5 Night Stars :D “Death seemed to me like a welcome breath of crisp fresh air. And I wasn’t sure if I could feel pain anymore. It would have to penetrate the layers and layers of numbness that had wrapped around me hour by hour as the countdown clocks ticked relentlessly on. Toward day or toward night, it didn’t matter anymore. The point was that they ticked, and as long as they did, any freedom was an illusion.”- Helene* * * “I’ve never met a human who, in the end, didn’t beg fo [...]

    • Okay, this is a strange book, but what else would you expect from Kitty Thomas. Kitty is one of my favorite authors, and a new book by her is always an event I look forward to. She does not disappoint with Dark Night of the Soul.Imagine a dystopian novel, crossed with vampire erotica, and you might have a little idea what it's about. Helene lives in a horrific world, a future earth where a single day and night takes 2000 hours to complete, 1000 daylight hours and 1000 hours in the dark. During t [...]

    • This world alternated between 1000 hours of darkness (night) and 1000 hours of light (day). People must be civil and obey the law during the day, but at night anything is fair game. Being caught outside at night was dangerous. Helene wasn't able to make it home before night and was captured.I didn't like either of the main characters. At the beginning Helene was severely depressed. Although I understood why she felt the way she did, I couldn't empathize with her. About halfway through her emotio [...]

    • Kitty Thomas you have done it again!! Another fabulous story, I didn't want Gabriel and Helene story to end (I felt like the dreaded countdown clock was against me as I got closer to the end of the story). I love the way Kitty wrapped up the story in the end, providing an insight of how life is for the both of them; how they lived and experienced the day and the night when separate. Remember, the grass isn't necessarily greener on the other side (of day or night).

    • RivetingThis story was so riveting! A unique twist to the Vampire history. It is both a dark yet emotional story of two characters finding each other and giving each other what they need to continue living in a dangerous world. Bravo Kitty Thomas on another fascinating tale!

    • Kitty is a incredible author her imagination and storytelling skills are beyond expectations. Whenever I watch a movie or read books with vampires in it. I have always felt sympathy to vampires and there existence. But I could never truly empathize with them because to empathize you would have to be in their shoes and feel what they experience. This is where this book comes it gives readers to genuinely feel pain, misery and sadness the way vampire's feel in the form of the whole time concept in [...]

    • Wow, wow, wow, wow ,wow - every time, every book, I am simply blown awayThis is a Kitty Thomas world, and it stands alone. She always warns people, but sometimes people forget or don't take the warnings. She writes dark and twisted stories, and if you like or love those, she is a master of them, so devour this as all of us who crave that genre do!In this world, night and day are not on 24 hours, they are on days long. The fairy tales for children explain why, but most just accept it as their rea [...]

    • "I felt that if his hand stayed there long enough, surely he could melt the block of ice around me, and I would awaken some new creature that saw the world in full color."The Queen of Dark Erotica has written a different take on the vampire legend, where there are a 1,000 hours of day and night. Helene is tired of the endless hours of feeling nothingof being lost in a darkness within herself and just wants it to end. The only thing that keeps her going is not wanting to leave her sister alone to [...]

    • 4.5 stars! Finally….we get a book that is back to the Kitty Thomas we all know and love. I absolutely loved this story! And I love her vampires. They’re dark, sexy, dominant, beautiful, and honest. This is a first dystopian type book for me. I thought it was clever and very well thought out. The only reason it took me forever to read this was because I’ve been traveling and busy with life. But I couldn’t wait to curl up and finish this treat.

    • Another awesomely creative tale by Kitty Thomas! I recommend her very highly if you enjoy a twisted tale. Per usual though the story ended leaving me wanting more but that is the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars ;)

    • It was an interesting read, something new. Not a lot happened though, I felt that it dragged a lot.It was written in first person's view.

    • I didn't like this book at first, because it was so different from anything else I have ever read. I kept reading and ended up loving it!!

    • I loved this book. That is pretty much it. The end, while totally not what I expected, was as it should be.

    • I tried this book on a whim and was NOT disappointed. It’s an interesting read for sure! I would call it a dystopian society in a paranormal context. Vampires basically rule the world but are unknown to humans. They go through 1000 hours of day and 1000 hours of night. In day, people live their lives and are happy. At night, they lock themselves inside because at night is when all the bad people come out. Helene is out just before night hits getting meds for her sister. On her way home she’s [...]

    • As the title suggests this story is set over one night. Of course in this fictional reality one night equals 1000 hours. When I started reading Dark Night of the Soul I noticed a slight resemblance to the dystopian ideology behind The Purge, however, instead of focusing on the gut-wrenching gorefest, Dark Night of the Soul takes a paranormal erotic approach to a world gone dark. Our heroine is Helene, a young woman who has given up on the oppressive life she was born into. We experience everythin [...]

    • Definitely a different take on the vampire taleHelene lives in a dystopian world where day and night are each 1000 hours long. Night is a time that it filled with terror - and she gets caught out in the city instead of safe in her home while getting medicine for her sister. Captured before she can make it home, she is taken to the home of Gabriel - and her life is changed forever. I enjoyed this book - I really disliked Gabriel in some parts, tolerated him in others - but, much like Helene, came [...]

    • I felt like this book was trying too hard. It had picked so many cliched themes common to erotica and just tried to cram them all together, that it left me feeling as if the book were not only incredibly unrealistic but tedious and boring. Toned down a little I feel this good have been better, but as it, it's not one that I'll be recommending to others.

    • WowI would read pretty much anything Kitty Thomas wrote, even if it were a Wiki page. This is not a boring Wiki page. It is a wonderful book and I loved every word of it. I can never get enough of her work.

    • Not a big fan of paranormal, although loved Kinar Chronicles. For me this wasn't real dark or erotic. I didn't connect with the characters either.

    • I expected so much more from this story. Out of all the books I have read by this author, this one seriously failed my expectations.
