    • “You’d better hope nine hundred fifty million hindus are wrong.”“Why?”“Because karma can be a bitch.”The things I enjoy most about this series all involve the protagonist. She is Indian, bi-sexual, and has anxiety and OCD. These are all genuinely a part of who she is. I appreciate the way her disorders were portrayed and feel they were handled well. They say time heals all wounds, but the truth is it isn’t time, it’s that the memories dull so they can’t cut you anymore. After t [...]

    • (Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to HarperCollins and Edelweiss.)“I don’t worry about their feelings and instead focus on how they’re like a puzzle I need to solve to get what I want.”This was an interesting sequel, and I was pleased with the way things ended.Kalah had a rough time in this book, but continued to try and bring what really happened to light, even when it became clear that Brit had a plan for everything. I didn’t b [...]

    • This review was done by KissinBlueKarenI didn’t even realize this was a sequel. I mean, it seemed like there was a lot of questions for what happened to get these girls where they started. It still read like a good thriller. I am happy to report that I still enjoyed this book. So even though this isn’t a stand-alone, I still enjoyed it as one.Kalah is in a bad spot throughout most of this story. I felt so much angst for her. Brit is back and Kalah is very angry she got away with it. Not only [...]

    • Avenged was an excellent sequel to Vanished, giving me exactly what I wanted from the conclusion to this series. As much as I liked Vanished when I read it, I did forget a lot of details since I then. This sequel did an excellent job of reminding me of everything I needed to know without going on too much about what happened in the first book. I felt like the tension in this book was really high, and I enjoyed reading I a lot. I had real trouble putting it down once I got into it. I loved Kalah a [...]

    • See more of my reviews on The YA Kitten! My copy was an ARC I got from YA Books Central for review.Diversity Rating: 4 – This is Our WorldRacial-Ethnic: 2 (Kalah is Indian)QUILTBAG: 4 (Kalah and Beth are bisexual, a gay couple is in here somewhere)Disability: 2 (Kalah has OCD and anxiety)Intersectionality: 4 (See all the above about Kalah)Return of the bisexual Indian girl with anxiety! Vanished remains fresh in my mind even though I read it close to a year and a half ago thanks to its charact [...]

    • At the end of Book #1 Vanished, Brit turned up, and Beth had been the one to die. Everyone believes that Brit had nothing to do with Beth's death and that she was a victim too. That is everyone except for Kalah who was friends with both of them, but closer to Beth than Brit. You see Kalah knows Brit's true colors and how she always likes to be the center of attention and nobody crosses Brit and lives to tell the tale. It is considered social suicide to cross Brit, and it seems since Beth is dead [...]

    • GRADE: A-Welcome to my web, said the spider to the fly. But who is the spider, and who the fly.Kalah's best friend and lover Beth is dead, and Kalah believes their third BFF Britney killed Beth. Kalah is will let nothing stop her from proving Brit's guilt. Not her history at her old school, with her former best friend. Not her ex boyfriend. Not her parents. Not the police liaison. Not even her therapist, who question's Kalah's version of events.I questioned the reliability of Kalah until the ver [...]

    • Title: AvengedAuthor: E.E. CooperAge Group: Teen/Young AdultGenre: Contemporary Fiction/Mystery/ThrillerSeries: Vanished, book twoStar Rating: 5 out of 5 StarsI borrowed this book through my local library and reviewed it.Avenged is the sequel to the smash hit published last year, Vanished. (Review can be found at this link: literatureobsessed) I loved that book so much. I loved that the main character was diverse, the creepy premise of a group of girls who were all hiding skeletons in their clos [...]

    • I've been waiting for the sequel to Vanished for what feels like forever and devoured Avenged. It didn't disappoint! It had the same mystery, intrigue, suspense and fast paced storyline that the first book did. I highly recommend this duology! I'm sad there are no more books for these characters. 5 Stars!

    • This book was a little stressful, as the main character went through a lot of stuff psychologically. It all resolved itself just fine, but somehow I was waiting for more, I think. I'm not sure why I was left just feeling a little bit unsatisfied.

    • Oh my god! The author does such a good job at setting the reader against Kalah that the ending is totally unexpected. brilliantly written and crafted!

    • I thought Avenged was an above-average mystery, but this sequel/finale blew my mind. If you wanted a YA mash-up between Gone Girl and Cruel Intentions, this is it. Because this story is about the psychological warfare between Kalah, who is out to, well, out Brit, who is hiding behind the web of lies. Kalah knows Brit killed Beth, but proving it is difficult. She tries many strategies, including waiting for her to slip up, pushing her into slipping, making her confide in her, but what she soon le [...]

    • Overall, I thought this was better than Vanished, if only marginally. The author's writing is stronger, more colorful, in this sequel, and Kalah's tendency toward whining has been toned down. However, Avenged seems to spin its wheels for much of the first 75% before rapidly concluding with a rushed, anticlimactic ending (it actually made me wonder if this was originally intended as a trilogy and then hastily reworked into just two books, with the resolution tacked on). The "big moment" at the end [...]
