    • I enjoy Kay Dawson's books. The are of the time period I enjoy, and are just sweet romances. A feel good book.

    • DNF, and here's why. I have read some awful writing in my time, but never to this extent. I made two attempts to read this and just couldn't because of sentences like “I reckon she’s come out on a wagon train and been left after she couldn’t go on perhaps."Repetition as well, with the same word being used sometimes up to 5 times in one paragraph."Her hands trembled as she took it from his hands,""Titus had joined a wagon train headed west when he decided to come west"Not knowing who is spe [...]

    • Ella's Embrace brings together Ella Wallace and Titus Cain as co-owners of a farm where Titus's uncle Walter raised horses when Walter was killed chasing a horse thief. Ella wants her independence, to marry for love and to have a home and family of her own. Titus wants to find the murderer of his younger brother and Uncle Walter and return back East to Tennessee. As they work together and find clues to the identity of the murderer and face dangers together romance develops despite the verbal sass [...]

    • This is a great continuation of the Oregon Sky series. Titus Cain had come to Bethany, Oregon with the wagon train. He set to work for Walter, who turned out to be his uncle. While working for his uncle he met Ella a headstrong girl from a neighboring farm. Ella was working horses for Walter. After the death of Walter, Ella learns she is now the proud owner of half of Walter's land. She learns that Titus whom she assumed was just an employee of Walter's was the other part owner. This book has my [...]

    • I found the story entertaining on a level with the old Roy Rogers series on Sunday mornings after attending church and before eating a big fried chicken dinner surrounded by family. The editing isn't the cleanest, but then, the predictability meter went off the charts right from the start. Of course, having lived in the Oregon City area for several years, I didn't see the connection to the scenery described in the story. It felt more like Central or Eastern Oregon, but then, time can change a lo [...]

    • Sweet, but not cloyingly aoThe Oregon Series, all three books so far, have been enjoyable. Good characterizations and good plots. The only jarring aspects of the reading are the author's lack of correct verb usage and lack of correct pronoun usage. The most frequent verb error s the misuse of the correct form of lie and lay. Finding the wrong verb in a smooth passage sets my teeth on edge. Obviously the proofreader has the same lack of understanding of lie and lay and pronoun useage. If those er [...]

    • 4.5 Stars.Such a joy to read! This story was just what I needed. I liked the characters, the plot, the writing. I'm kind of sad the book has ended. Ella's Embrace was relatively fast-paced, although it did suffer from the mid-point-slump. I figured out the mystery early on and I'm happy the author didn't drag it out. The balance between dialog, action and narrative are just right for me. I look forward to going back and reading the previous books in this series.

    • I had the nagging feeling I had read this book before. I searched all through my account for the past n years and came up blank. So, let me rephrase this - I have read many books like this over the years. It wasn't a bad book. It was mildly diverting at bedtime, didn't take long to read, and didn't demand much emotional engagement (apart from worrying about the mule). OK, rather than great.

    • Emma's Embrace(Oregon Sky Series Book 3Ella was a very hard string woman who could do anything around the farm a man could do and was determined she was not going to marry anybody unless she was in love with and he was in love with her. Now you will have to read the book to find out who she married , why and if it's going to work ! Go and get the book !!

    • Ella had always wanted a farm of her own. She wanted to train horses. Walter hired her to do just that. When he was killed she inherited the land. But someone was willing to kill for this land. She and Travis are trying to find out who. This is a good short story with danger, intrigue, and warmhearted feelings. Enjoy it.

    • MehhHard for me to finish. I didn't really connect with the characters, and I couldn't help but wonder if the author has actually ever been to Oregon. Nothing about the setting details screamed Oregon.

    • Great bookI enjoyed this series very much! Each book was a quick, fun read! I loved the characters and their storylines were wonderful. You could see everything that was happening.

    • AwesomeWhat an awesome book, letting your heart find love when you think you should not or it is to late for you is never easy, this book shows it can be done.

    • Drama and intrigueAll for the love of a good man Ella wants love in her marriage, will she find that with Titus? Kay always gives you a wonderful HEA!

    • I liked this story, but I just had a little trouble believing the connection between Ella and Titus. I just wanted more romance.

    • Ella's EmbraceLove this book! Wally made it so much fun, LOL. Very nice read. Thank you Kay. I hope others will enjoy this book as much as I did.

    • GreatThis is the third book in the series and I have read all of them. They are worth reading so I hope you will read and enjoy.

    • Romance and humorWas a nice little read. I especially liked Wally, he made the story a little entertaining. Would recommend this boom if youmlime western romance

    • 4.5/5.0This is a clean Western story that moves quickly. Read full review in the 2017 March issue of InD'tale Magazine.

    • HOLDING OUT FOR A DREAMI enjoyed this third book in the Oregon Sky Series where we have come to know the Wallace family and their friends. Titus Cain had come to help his Uncle Walter Jenkins out on his ranch after the death of his brother, Martin. Now someone has not only killed Martin, but Walter has been murdered, and Titus was unable to stop it or to see who it was. Too many mysterious incidences, stolen horses, and not only these deaths have Titus concerned. The reading of the will comes as [...]

    • I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a fair review!A wonderful story of two people who think they shouldn’t be together but are better together than alone! This is my favorite kind of tale! Ella will only marry for love, but feels she’s lost her chance because of her old age at 23! Titus is afraid he’ll repeat the sins of his father and grandfather and vows to never marry. Kay weaves a tale that requires them to marry and forces them to see beyond their fears and discov [...]

    • GoodThis is the second book of the Oregon Sky Series I have read. Both books were a clean easy read. Enjoyed the characters and the plot. No surprises and no cliffhangers. Recommended if you need a quick happy read.

    • Stubbornness is a family trait The "Wallace family" in this series are rather hot headed and stubborn and I loved them. Ella was my favorite and I really liked her buddy Wally, he's a bit of an unconventional herod I hope to see what shenanigans he's up to in the next book.

    • Love WallyGreat story of two headstrong people as they face a common threat and work to find out who wants them dead and why. Titus and Ella overcame their fears and insecurities in this sweet romance, but it was Sally who stole the show.

    • Another sweet winnerI do love hope the characters remain consistent within themselves and the plots aren't " contrived".I still think that when some one is injured that shouldn't be so quickly forgotten and, please, it's lightning that strikes during a storm.

    • Great book I really enjoyed reading this book. It is a story of love in unusual circumstances and unsolved murder I am looking forward to the next book in the series
