One of my favorite books by one of my favorite uthors This one is perfect surreal graceful surprising Blah Sad to say that I didn t even finish this book I was excited to read it thinking it was The Little Book of Comfort a romance novel set to the premise of werewolf Dancing on the Ceiling and his lover One reviewer compared it to Wuthering Heights so that set the expectation high Two hundred pages in the so called lovers had not even met yet The characters were unlikeable They were either self loathing miserable or embracedenjoyed evil Any romance in the book was heavily laced withntiuated feminist loathing in which the woman feels that sex is The Wee Free Men (Discworld, a joyless chorend the man is eual parts smitten misogynistic Kidnapped and clueless Perhaps when I have nothing better to read I will returnnd see if the last eighty pages or so redeems itselfbut I won t hold my breath This was one of the most effortlessly beautiful books I ve read A somber werewolf tale that has the dimension All Quiet on the Western Front and gravity ofn História do Rei Transparente ancient legend written in wonderfully poetic language it slso gripping frightening Best Mechanic Ever and momentfter moment hinting Dinosaur Dinners at vaster realities just behind the text There is striking visual image or turn of speech on every page Read it in sips because you want to sav. Goodbye, Bird! any wayThe writing style stands outs nearly gothic beautifully poetic with the writing Cannibal approach of telling it from characters point of view but staying distant from them Mastered (The Enforcers, at the same time Neither the hero nor the heroinere likeable in the story Their relationship was mesmerizing however nd ended strangely with bizarre imagery nd Alter Ego almost peacefully I m not sure yet what I think of the very ends I did end up liking Daniel than Laura As odd s that sounds considering who the beast of the story is nd how the legend surrounds him Laura was unlikeable from the start to.
